Searching for Houston’s “Most Untrainable Dog”
Pup Scouts Dog Training is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Houston’s “Most Untrainable Dog” contest.
The first place winner will receive a free 6-week private training course
with Pup Scout’s head trainer, Holly Furgason, a leash, treats and toys
valued at $600. One runner up will receive a free group class valued at
$250. The contest runs from June 15 until July 1, 2007.
Applicants should send an essay of 100 words or less describing why they
think their dog is untrainable to trainmydog@pup-scouts.com. From the
essays, five finalists will be chosen and evaluated by a panel of five dog
professionals and judged on their behavior.
Of course, we don’t really think any dog is untrainable. We want to show that any dog can be trained and in the
process show how effective our training is. What better way than with dog who everyone believes is ‘untrainable’.”
Rule for Houston’s Most Untrainable Dog contest:
1) All applicants must send an essay of 100 or less describing why their dog deserves the title and the classes. Photos will be accepted if they are in the body of the email.
2) Essays must be emailed to trainmydog@pup-scouts.com by July 1, 2008. Essays may be used in the Dog Nanny blog at chron.com or on the Pup Scouts web site.
3) Five dogs will be chosen based on the essays to come in for an evaluation by a panel of 5 dog professionals between July 7 and 11, 2008 to see which one is indeed Houston's "Most Untrainable Dog".
4) One dog will be chosen as the winner based on his behavior at the evaluation and receive six free private classes, a new leash, treats and toys, a $600 value. The runner-up will receive a certificate for Pup Scouts group classes, a $250 value.
5) Dogs must be without behavior problems such as aggression, fear, shyness or OCD. We just want regular, old fashioned, out-of-control dogs of any age, any breed.
6) Decision of the judges is final.
7) Training must be completed by Oct. 31st.
8) Entrants agree to the use of their dogs' and their likenesses for publicity and educational purposes for Pup Scouts Dog Training.
So, if your dog has been kicked out of obedience school, pulls you down the street, jumps everywhere, has never looked at you and still has no idea what sit means, please let us know!
