Responsible Dog Ownership
Join us on Sept. 13, 2008 for a celebration of responsible dog ownership! We'll have demonstrations, presentations, free samples, free classes and dogs for adoption. Participants other than Pup Scouts include the Cooper Animal Clinic, Cara Dubcek Photography, Auburn Kennel, State Farm Insurance, artist Holly Hunter-Berry, Zandra Anderson The Texas Dog Lawyer, Friends of BARC and Houston Humane Society. Activities are from 12:00- 5:00 pm.
12:00- Free No Jump Class- These simple techniques will postiively teach your dog to keep all four feet on the floor. Previous training not required.
1:00- Free 10 Myths of Canine Nutrition- Dr. Cooper, a Heights area vet, will give a powerful seminar on canine nutrition. Not to be missed if you want the healthiest puppy you can have!
Rally Fun Run for Rescue- Run this simple obedience course with your dog- everyone's a winner! $1 a run and all proceeds go to Friends of BARC.
2:00- Free Responisble Dog Seminar- Responsible dog ownership from a legal stand point by Houston's own Dog Lawyer, Zandra Anderson. Emphasis will be on the new laws pertaining to dogs that have recently taken effect.
3:00- Free Car Safety Class- Learn how to get your dog into and out of a car safely and under control.
4:00 pm- Free First Aid Class- Know what to do when an emergency strikes.
Canine Good Citizen Testing- Free mock test to practice for the real test or just see how well your dog does. This will be followed by real testing at $10 a dog.
All Day- Free food for the people, Astros Pet Calendars for sale, dogs for adoption, handouts on housebreaking, crate training, loose leash walking, nutrition, premium food samples, raffles and other give aways!
